Asia Pacific Renewable Energy Solutions is an energy solutions company founded in 2019 by a group of entrepreneurs who share a common vision of expanding renewable and sustainable sourcing of energy.

Asia Pacific Renewable Energy Solutions’s clear passion is to establish infrastructure that maximises the diversion of waste from landfill and to recover products and energy in the most efficient, safest and commercially viable way possible. We firmly believe that if we (as a community) generate waste today, then we need to deal with it today and not bury it in a hole that becomes a legacy for future generations.

Waste to Energy

As an energy solutions company, our mission is to simplify technical and economic risk for project stakeholders by choosing technology that rightfully matches the available waste resources and organising qualified and competent project team. As a minimum, the technologies we choose must be economically viable, with multiple reference sites processing similar waste feedstocks to those being considered for a domestic project, and they must be able to meet the most stringent international environmental regulatory standards.

Micro-grid Power Plant

Solar is good. Solar Micro-grids are Better.  It’s a surprise to many when they learn that their grid-connected solar panels can not keep the lights on during a power outage.

This was a lesson the Northeast US learned the hard way during Sandy, the 2012 superstorm that knocked out power to 8 million people. Two weeks or more without electricity, solar panel owners were venting to the media. Few realized that absent a battery and advanced inverter, their solar homes would go dark.

Four years later, the misunderstanding persists. Homeowners, communities and businesses still install solar panels — sometimes making large capital investments — under the false presumption that solar will keep the lights on when the grid fails.

Wave Energy

How much power could be generated using wave energy? Wave energy is an emerging technology that has been generating interest as an alternative renewable energy source. There are more than 200 wave energy devices in various stages of testing and demonstration, however there is limited published data on its viability as an alternate energy source. Given the apparent advantages of wave energy and the fact that it’s a very new technology, we wanted to understand what is the sustainable level at which this resource could be used for energy supply, and whether it could be competitive with other energy technologies.

Biofuels offer plant-based solutions to the Earth’s growing energy problems.

Hydro Electric Dam

By taking advantage of gravity and the water cycle, we have tapped into one of nature’s engines to create a useful form of energy. In fact, humans have been capturing the energy of moving water for thousands of years. Today, harnessing the power of moving water to generate electricity, known as hydroelectric power, is the largest source of emissions-free, renewable electricity in the United States and worldwide.

Although the generation of hydropower does not emit air pollution or greenhouse gas emissions, it can have negative environmental and social consequences. Blocking rivers with dams can degrade water quality, damage aquatic and riparian habitat, block migratory fish passage, and displace local communities. The benefits and drawbacks of any proposed hydropower development must be weighed before moving forward with any project. Still, if it’s done right, hydropower can be a sustainable and nonpolluting source of electricity that can help decrease our dependence on fossil fuels and reduce the threat of global warming.
